Organisation details

The foundation’s policy focuses on several core areas:

  • promoting animal welfare nationally and internationally

  • increasing awareness and education on animal welfare, nature, environment, and the relationship between people, animals, and habitats

  • connecting, supporting, and facilitating organisations, initiatives, and partners through collaboration and knowledge sharing

  • developing online infrastructure and practical support systems

  • setting up and carrying out projects that improve animal welfare and protect habitats

  • organising campaigns, events, media, and content

  • raising funds and supporting mission-related initiatives

  • contributing constructively to social, ecological, and policy developments

Purpose

The purpose of Stichting World Animal Federation is to promote animal welfare in the broadest sense, as well as to contribute to the protection of nature, the environment, and ecosystems, both nationally and internationally, and to help prevent and reduce animal suffering. The foundation seeks to achieve this purpose through awareness and education, research and reporting, collaboration with organisations and initiatives, the development of online infrastructure, the organisation of national and international projects, the creation of media and content, fundraising, and support for third parties and initiatives that contribute to its mission. The foundation does not aim to make a profit.

Governance

Members of the Supervisory Board do not receive remuneration for their supervisory duties. Expenses incurred may be reimbursed upon submission of supporting documents, and a non-excessive attendance fee may be granted where applicable.

The remuneration and other employment conditions of the Director are determined by the Supervisory Board. Stichting World Animal Federation has no profit motive, and any remuneration policy is applied in a manner consistent with the foundation’s public benefit purpose

At present, the foundation has no employees. If staff are appointed in the future, the applicable remuneration policy for staff will be published on this page.

The foundation has a governance model consisting of a director and an independent Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board supervises the policy of the director and the general affairs of the foundation.

Remuneration policy

Stichting World Animal Federation was established in 2026 and is currently in its start-up phase. As a result, no formal annual activity report is available yet. Once sufficient activities have been carried out and documented, an up-to-date report of activities will be published on this page in accordance with the applicable ANBI publication requirements.

Financial accountability

Stichting World Animal Federation is currently in its first financial year. According to the foundation’s articles of association, the first financial year runs until 31 December 2027. For that reason, no annual financial statement is available yet. The first financial statement will be published on this page after the end of the first financial year and following the internal approval process of the foundation.

Transparency statement

Stichting World Animal Federation values transparency, proper governance, and accountability. For that reason, this page provides the information relevant to donors, partners, volunteers, and supervisory authorities in accordance with the Dutch ANBI publication requirements.
